Tinashe Tanyanyiwa

Born 5 April 1989 Tinashe Tanyanyiwa is one of the two founding trustees of the Young Leaders Forum and the current Executive Director of the Young Leaders Forum. The Director’s mission in life is the promotion of innovative thinking based on his staunch belief that what one needs are good ideas and a desire to succeed.

Tinashe’s role in the Forum is greatly enhanced by his background in youth leadership as the former Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Law Students Association as well as a Headboy of St Francis Xavier’s Kutama College. He strongly believes that his generation can make an impact that will continue to be felt long after they are gone. The enhancement of young people is his goal and his first principle.

In his article, ‘Do you get the Idea’ he wrote that, ‘a plan well-thought can get the job done and it can even get you where you want to be in life. But an idea - now that’s a jewel because with an idea you have infinite possibilities.’ It is the notion of nurturing novelty in young people which drove Tinashe to consider the conception of the Forum. As the man himself would say, “Imagine a generation of kids thinking like C.E.O.s when they are barely 22”.
